The Quietest Place on Earth

I was very happy when I reached out to Orfield Labs to shoot photos in their lab spaces. I had read all these sensational articles about having the record for the quietest place on Earth, in their anechoic chamber, registered at -24.9 db. The articles are crazy saying that you can’t last long in the chamber without going insane, while in reality quite the opposite is true. People find a profound sense of peace and calm inside, and can spend hours if they want.

The firm otherwise specializes in human comfort in architectural spaces, from the point of view of all five senses combined. I found myself grateful for the work they are doing, and hoping that us as a society can slow down and learn to prioritize comfort and harmony as well.
